Older a2836 v newer a21J

Hi guys

Just looking for some views on the subject seeing as u can now pick up the older version 'Noob factory' a2836 reps for as low as +$20 to +$50 more than the latest 'basic' 21 jewel or quartz versions. (price being $128 for previous version 2836 Noobmariner from smaller trusted dealers as apposed to approx $110 for latest version 21j GMT from larger website based trader)

The advantages of the newer model being that small updates to rep closeness to gen may be apparent whilst also the later, thicker quality extension bracelet.

Wheras the advantages of the a2836 is obviously the 28.8k bhp sweep. Disadvantage being the 'tin can' feel to the older bracelet.

I have seen lots of threads where people say their opinion is that the 21,600 bhp of the Asain 21j is barely a noticeable difference to the sweep of the 28,800bph of the 2836 which would obviously conclude that the 21j is a better buy.

However, having recently bought an older version 2836 Noobmariner and a latest version 21j milgauss, I find the sweep of the 2836 is far, far superior in terms of closeness to genuine. even at full arms length the 21j ticks is way round the dial in a questionable fashion

while the 2836 is good enough to fool anyone but an expert.

As far as everything else goes the 21j is heavier, feels more solid and is ever so slightly richer in colour all round.

This is something I have been pondering on for some months as I come around to the time of expanding my rep Rolex collection (and being too tight to spend more than $150 on each item) and I really can't decide which way to go.

I have a couple of omega reps and they are not such an issue as I have a gen quartz omega and my peers just presume all my omegas are real.

But with the industry drilling this 'the way to spot a fake Rolex is to look at the sweep' into everyones heads. So much so that a work colleague who knows nothing about watches called me out as wearing counterfit goods (although in a jovial manner it was in front of about 10 people), it seems that a much higher quality of Rolex rep is required to not rouse suspicion amongst the general populous.

Hmm. Sorry for the lengthy post. I'd be interested to hear other peoples thoughts about these points.
