Can you QC a date change with a pic?

I recently bought an 42mm Omega Planet Ocean for a friend of mine from one of the top dealers we have here.

Went through the whole process of QC pics and approving them and had it shipped.

As always the watch was well packed and protected. Gave it a quick once over, eveything look fine.

Soon after I gave the watch to my friend he calls me to complain that the watch has stopped.

Turns out that when the watch is about to change the date just before midnight it stops.

Anyway, I let the Dealer know about the issue and this is what the respone was:

"We did send the QC pics of calibration before shipment. If its not ok, please send it back to get it checked and serviced."

I don't see how a QC pic is going to show that the date change works properly.

Maybe someone can enlighten me.

You already know the answer to this, don't be a d*ck. They are basically telling you "hey, we did the best we can do, sent you pics of us testing the watch out" etc. and offered to remedy the issue. Truth is you can't and this could have happened to any watch even a genuine omega. You are dealing with replicas so are you so surprised that this could possibly happen? What more do you really want exactly?

Not sure how many rep watches you have bought, I have bought many. Never had an issue with the date change stalling the movement. Most issues were with loose hands or crappy bracelets. Many of the watches were bought before they had these QC pics. The QC pics are a good thing but not when they try to blame the courier and absolve themselves of liability.

Quote from the dealer

"As we also send calibration photos of watch, any DOA (Dead on Arrival) issues should be mostly the courier service handling and not us. If there are such DOA issues, we will require you to send back the item for exchange or repair by the factory (Delivery charges to be borne by the customer)."

Anyway some people like throwing money away on return shipping, I am not one of them.

This "Trusted dealer" has lost my business.
