freddy333 Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 I am not familiar with timeshops & without knowing which factory makes their watches, your question may provide a more useful response if directed solely at those who own the same watch. In general, flashed (or whatever marketing spin the rep seller wants to use) gold tends not to be very long-lived. The only sure-fire way to keeping the gold looking like gold (as opposed to its underlying base metal) is to keep the watch clean & in a case (never worn).
Jkay Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 TS claims to be a noobfactory wholesaler and offers good prices on noob watches. The TT gmt2c they sell is the noobfactory model in a21j, clone and Swiss eta. The ss model in a21j is only 72$, if I remember correctly.

Jkay Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 I think it's fantastic .. the two issues with *all* Noobfactory GMT .. the bezel detentes feel like they could be a lot more "precise" and unfortunately the ETA and ETA clone movement GMT "hack" can wear out rather quickly and cause the GMT hand to slip. Good thing you have the a21j version, which does not have this problem. To fix the ETA/Clone issue, the best course of action is to buy a real ETA GMT movement and swap it in.

Noel Fleischer Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Timeshops are TD @ the other RWG and RWI. They have specials on 'Noobfactory' Rolex- Ceramic Subs, DD, DJ all about $150 with clone mov'ts. I have a few SS models- GMT and Sub-C very good deals for the $$. No complaints so far.

watch.aholic Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I'd like to know if one can cape cod the gold plated parts of the watch? Will the plating come off if one were to do this? Sounds like it would but can it handle a bit of cape codding once in a while?

Depending how deep that layer is & how much you remove, you may or may not reveal the underlying base metal. Unfortunately, with rep watches, there is no way to tell, before hand, whether polishing will damage the watch. This is 1 of the reasons it is best to avoid gold & two-toned reps.
