gaizka Posted November 21, 2011 Report Posted November 21, 2011 ...I read how someone used a Dremel to round out the ROO pushers. Since I dont own a Dremel, does anyone think I could use, say a Fine grit nail file to get results? Anyone use something another than a dremel?
Miocrow Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 if you want the rounded pushers on your AP, just ask your dealer. Yep they can get it now.
greekgod Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 provided you buy a new AP from them ..they would do it.I am not sure if they would entertain previously sold watches to you... But you can always check.
gaizka Posted November 22, 2011 Author Report Posted November 22, 2011 this would be for a watch purchased from another member. Hence the DIY angle. would be great if the Dealers sold the pushers by themselves!
20Babies Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 I too have been contemplating how to DIY the pusher and i dont have a dremel. Wish someone here have done the mod himself/herself. Appreciate any form of idiot guide to the mod.....
sander Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 It was me who wrote that. The easiest way to shave the pushers is when they are spinning. So it really doesn't matter if it's done with a Dremel or with a regular drill. You just need to be sure not to over-tighten it because the pusher tubes are fragile. Realy funny to see that the dealers used another idea from me. FIrst they copied my date wheel fix for the Big Pilot and now they are shaving the pushers as well?

After all the 1:1 ,Gen used as example, etc language, now they could say; "expert mod consultant reviewed and approved"
HauteHippie Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 Anyone want my old pushers? I'll be glad to round 'em off to look like my gen pushers with the ol' Dremel....

gaizka Posted November 22, 2011 Author Report Posted November 22, 2011 Anyone want my old pushers? I'll be glad to round 'em off to look like my gen pushers with the ol' Dremel.... uh oh Cheiftang...tried sending you PM but looks like you are full. Send me a PM. thanks!
Fleet Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 Well, it's just rounded rubber corners, so shouldn't be hard to do it by yourself. But I can't guarantee it'll look good. They're small, and you might round it too much.
mt666tm Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 you can easily do the mod without a dremel. Just remove the pushers and lay a piece of fine sandpaper down and take the pusher in your fingers and lightly take it over the paper to sand down the edge and round it off. Go slow and light and you wont mess it up I didn't want to use a dremel cuz it's easy to slip and hit the case or shave off too much rubber

Go slow and light and you wont mess it up I didn't want to use a dremel cuz it's easy to slip and hit the case or shave off too much rubber I want to try that but I dont know how to remove the pushers...I saw a pics of some pushers disassembled, it looked like they unscrewed directly from the case? If not, I really dont want to open case and remove movement to get to the pushers. Any idea what size Fine sandpaper would work best?
mt666tm Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 I have a bin of paper I use when I build bikes so I don't remember, but it would have most likely been 600, i think.
mt666tm Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 ^ Correction. I just did it again tonight and used a few different grits. 320 worked perfectly. I didn't even take out the pushers, just put masking tape around them incase i slippedl and ran the paper over the edges for a few min and they rounded off very well.
sahboo Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 awesome!...i've got to try it this weekend...thanx for posting
Buddalondon Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Mt666tm - Thanks for posting. I am going to give this a go. Hope I don't fluff it!! 1
Mr Z Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 also done this mode .. used wet and dry paper 400 grit and 600 grit to finish it of ... no masking taper needed easy ... just a steady hand and a good eye ,job done!!!
bobbyrutgers Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 would somebody please take a video? I'm sure it would definitely help many of us who are still kinda confused as to the proper way to use that sandpaper without a dremel. i was planning on taping the watch like mt666tm did.
Inertiadrifter Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 X2 for a YouTube video. I have a AP coming in and this is one of the plan MODS I want to do 1
