tagrolex Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 I have just gotten my QC pics for my Pro Hunter Deep Sea Seadweller I Asian 2836-2. I would like any input from the community members regarding the quality of this replication. I am so excited to get my watch!! Thank you for your help.
mikellem Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 What dealer did you get it from! Nice Pvd.. MM
tagrolex Posted December 24, 2011 Author Report Posted December 24, 2011 thank you - the only question I really had was the white dot near the 50 on the bezel But with you giving it the OK - seems like I am ready to go ahead and take delivery. Can't wait to put this in rotation with my gen Tag Aquaracer day/date
mikellem Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 It's most likely dust! Did you ask the dealer? MM
tagrolex Posted December 24, 2011 Author Report Posted December 24, 2011 Yea - he said it was OK. It probably is just dust, since the shot with the packing slip didn't seem to have the dot. Told Andrew to ship it - should expect it in a week or so. Can't wait to give this watch some wrist time.
tagrolex Posted December 24, 2011 Author Report Posted December 24, 2011 And the shot of the lume, looks very nice
rgriffith24 Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 I've had one for about 6 months and love it. But I do have a question. The bezel ring feels like plastic to me. Not a big tell but it just doesn't feel right. Any thoughts? Sorry if I stole the thread.
seafoam Posted December 25, 2011 Report Posted December 25, 2011 Looks like an old bezel. Has the 10 spacing issue. Other than that, very nice!
tagrolex Posted December 26, 2011 Author Report Posted December 26, 2011 Price was a steal - $168 ($193 shipped to USA) http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_8&products_id=4169
Jkay Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 These have the bad 10 issue, and the bezel insert is not plastic, it is ceramic. Try to scratch it without using someone's diamond ring. I dare you.
tagrolex Posted December 27, 2011 Author Report Posted December 27, 2011 overall I am very happy with the look of the watch - especially for under $200 I could always replace the bezel - idk yet I will decide once it gets here
fischyyy Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 Great price, Great lume. I have just found these 21J movements to be hit and miss, but value for money is certainly great.
tagrolex Posted January 2, 2012 Author Report Posted January 2, 2012 Not too sure what his actual name is on the forum. I know he is one of the recommended dealers and I provided the link to his website. It was delivered to my house on Sat (but was away for new years) and now rescheduled to get here tomorrow. I'll add pics once I get it. *think Andrews name is trustytime
tagrolex Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Received my watch and thought I would update some pictures of it. Overall the quality is very good - can't believe this watch was only $160 - and no problems (thus far) with the movement. Also included pic comparing (for size) with my gen Tag Aquaracer. Question: How do I get the rep bracelet to 'lay like my gen Tag's bracelet?
mikellem Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 I think it's because of the deployment clasp on the inside of the band, but i am not positive. that is just what it looks like to me.. MM
Jkay Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 The diver's extension (I bet you have not noticed it) makes that kind of shape impossible unless you want to add more links.
tagrolex Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 I am aware of the divers extension and that is the problem... I have messed around with adding links but they seem to need a 1/2 link (like my tag provides) to make it the perfect fit. When I say 'lay' like my Tag I mean the bracelet to not be as stiff. The Rolex bracelet is stiff (it binds up) and I was wondering if there was a way to 'loosen' the bracelet up with out using an abrasive. BC I fear an abrasive would wear off the pvd coating.

Jkay Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 Thanks, I'll try that. Most rep bracelets are full of machine grit and metal bits. You should wash the bracelet throroughly with dish soap and water. Really work it in there. Then rinse rinse rinse! Lastly, use a dry-style lubricant commonly found in bicycle shops and sold as bike chain lube. It goes on as a liquid, but the liquid flashes away and leaves a powerful dry lubricating layer. Work it in!!!
tagrolex Posted January 13, 2012 Author Report Posted January 13, 2012 Sounds like a winner, I'll work on that project this weekend
renegade Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Nice looking watch, i have one that i bought form Josh a couple of years ago, it has the Asian 3135 movement, was $408, but does look stunning. The only problem i have had is that i have lost the Lume dot marker at 12 oclock, not sure how, probably knocked it knowing me!! I have just ordered one of his Project X Explorer II and he is sendng me a new marker but does anyone know how they fit? Do they simply push and therefore do you need to expoxy it in place? Any guidance from anyone would be fantastic as it spoils the look with a small hole a t 12!!
