jmarin.72
Ok guys, i need your expert knowledge here Today i purchased a gen longines (pics below) and i got a rather strange problem, first time met at a chrono mvnt Seems that even though the chronograph is stopped and reset the hour counter at 6 o'clock keeps running and hour counting! Any ideas before i hit the AD service?
mikellem
I would take it back to the dealer for replacement... The only think that keep working when the chrono is off is the seconds hand... Not fun when it;s a new watch.. I am sorry ! MM
FxrAndy
It is a fairly simple fix but requires the dial, hands and calendar plate removing. Take it back to the AD and get them to fix it under warentee
mikellem
Andy, the watch is brand new...Why should he have to send it back to the factory? I would demand a new replacement. Now if you purchased it awhile ago,, then the watch has to go back to the factory.... Just my 2 cts. which isn't worth much... MM
FxrAndy
Quite true MM a replacement is warrented, and dont get fobbed off by stupid sales staff who dont know there arse from elbow, the problem lays with with the 12 hour counter brake. mikellem
Even gens come défective one in awhile... Go for a new watch.. Without any exceptions.. As Andy said.. Don't let these watch salesman persuade you to send for repair. just be tough and stand your ground with the dealer.. I think all we be good in the long run!
