I think I've decided on PAM 117...

Ok, sorry... I've been posting a lot lately on the PAM's, but I really respect the opinions I've gotten on this forum and I need to know what you guys think of the 117. I like the looks of it and I've been wanting to buy one. But I want to make sure I'm getting the right PAM.

I thought I liked the look of the ceramic case of some of the other models, but the titanium of the 117 has really caught my eye. I think I've decided on the PAM 117. It comes with the rubber strap which I do like, but I will probably get a nice black suede band that I found somewhere else to put on it. It has the C1+C3 superluminova, which they say is awesome (is it?). And the exhibition back is an absolute must for me with this watch (not really sure why). Plus I think the movement on this watch looks really sharp.

So. What do you think? I mean there's something about the Panerai that moves me. It's weird.. I don't like a lot of them. But the ones I do like, I like a lot.

I've only been at this for a few weeks, so I really do appreciate your opinions. The power of forums is awesome!

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I've been drinking a lot tonight.

Best thing to do is pick one, get it, move on from there. It's not important what we think, it's important what you think. In general prices by dealer are in line with quality. Not all. Maybe not a 100% copy. If you want that, get the gen. If you want an awesome watch buy the rep. There are plenty of reviews that talk about Lume and cases. There is plenty to make a safe first pick. I will tell you that the watches never look the same blown up to 1 foot tall as they do as 2.5 inches in your wrist. Take it one step at a time and you will discover what is important to you. We here will help you find what you enjoy.

After doing this a long time, it's my opinion that this is the way to go. You will get there if you stay long enough no matter what ave you take. This way will get you there faster and more economically. I recorded my thoughts on the forum and what it's like to walk into a wall of info and opinion. I did this in my first year. Check out the link in my sig. Most folks who have been here sometime who read it tell me that they went through a very similar thought process and experience. It may help you take a step back and realize which foot to put forward.

It's overwhelming. It's daunting, it's enough to but the best ADHD of us into a quiet nap. If you enjoy the board then you have set out on a path. It's a path that you can travel for many years. Were not going anywhere soon and neither are the watches. All in good time :)

Isn't the 117 a brown dial? Does it have the E/F series engraved dial? Given Angus's upcoming 127 we can only hope that some others come out with that movement. 117 is a virtually impossible watch to come by unless someone want to sell there old one. I think Lawrence from house of souvenirs used to have them. If you can't wait try DSN 36

Haha... wow! Thanks for that reply. That is what I love about this forum, the wall of info and opinion.

I'm watching all the vids in your signature right now. They're great!

Yes, you're probably right about the 117. As you can see from my PS, I drank quite a bit last night. What I meant to type was PAM 177!

Sorry for the confusion!
