Esterhazy
I have lately become fascinated by the range of Pam Subs. The 24a has really caught me eye but I would like to mod it in a way that most Pam lovers will probably want to burn me at the stake for. First I wanted to have the case DLC'd. That doesn't seem to be a problem as there are very competent modders out there who could do this. So here comes the weird bit (please no one tell the Spanish Inquisition), I know they come with an A7750 as the standard movement but I would like a handwind high beat Unitas. Call me crazy but I just prefer handwind movements. I thought that because the 24a has no complications (chrono, gmt, etc) that it might be possible. Would those with great knowledge of these models and movements please advise if this is a viable exercise and from who might I get the parts/watch from with the movement I want? Thanking all in advance for any assistance provided.
FxrAndy
I think you would need a different dial as the seconds should be in a different position also I am not sure the the stem position would line up with the crown tube
StormTooper4
DLC sounds like a great idea but you will need to change the dial as no Manual 6497 have date so you'd have a hole there . Part of the charm of the 24 are the round indices which compliment the bezel markers It would be a shame to loose those. remove the disc and manually wind up the 7750 if you really need to. Esterhazy
Thank you for the insight and the sage advice. Didn't realise about handwind movements not having dates so I will have to forget about a 6497 as I wouldn't want to loose that dial. Dial and bezel work so well together on this model.
