Guest sharkrun20
Just thinking out loud here...I have a gen Yachtmaster I just had professionally refinished (watch was in well worn condition) and it looks mint basically. To me the big difference between reps and gens is the level of finishing. The reps obviously don't have any hand polishing done after completion whereas gens have a higher level of fit and finish. Has anyone ever sent their watch off to have it buffed and smoothed out? I was contemplating if this could give one a gen feel that the reps lack...honestly whether the font is off by .00022 mm or whatever doesn't make as much of a difference as the weight it feels. Anyone have experience with this? I'd contemplate having my franken Big Pilot worked over if I thought it might make a difference.
Jkay
There are members who have their own polishing bench. This type of thing is highly recommended.
Guest sharkrun20
Eh, unfortunately I don't have the tools or the experience to feel confident messing around with the stuff. Do any of our resident modders offer services like these?
Jkay
The only watchmaker I have personally seen advertise case and bracelet re-finishing is Zigmeister. I do not know if anyone else does this professionally.
