Cats
I have a Bob strap which has a very light tan ( yellow ) colour. I would like to change to color to a little darker , preferably light brown or cognac kindish color. Does anyone have a suggestion how i can get this done ?? I've used glove oil several times but that doesn't change the color of the strap. Thanks in advance for your tips and suggestions. relaxman
Cats I'm guessing it depends on the leather. This strap was tan until I put olive oil on it. Your strap may not have the same effect. Some suck up the oil some don't

Jkay
I did the same thing to my 390 strap, but with Lexol leather care lotion, not olive oil .. same result. I soaked it good and let it sit and absorb the chemicals then wiped it clean.
Cats
Thanks guys i first will try to find the lexol in the Netherlands to do the hole strap. Let you know how it worked out. Carpe Diem Cats
Jkay
It's most often used on car interiors. Go to your local automobile supply store and see what they recommend for preserving fine leather interiors.
modelizer
Why not just sell it to me as is and just buy a new one in the colour of your choice? Been looking for that particular one but good ol' BOB does not carry it anymore unfortunately..
Cats
Hi modelizer it's a 22mm strap for my Schuhren watch. And indeed BOB doesn't carry that color anymore unfortunately. Carpe Diem Cats
relaxman
I'm afraid if the ball glove lotion is not changing the lexol may not either. Some leathers especially dyed leathers will no change no matter what you do to them.

Carpe Diem Cats Ah, it's a 22.. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one just like yours but in 24.. Love that colour! If I were you I would leave that "rarity" as is and just enjoy it! Cats
I gave it a try on the second keeper with the bertolli. Nothing happened only my wife looked kind of strange when i took the oil back to my office. Carpe Diem Cats

blbl
I still recommend this.. It's the cats meow. Just regular olive oil for cooking?!? wow amazing results u got there Did you soak the whole strap in it for long or just a dip and then left to dry? Do I have to wash it off with water afterwards?(thinking it might feel oily?)

Klockis
From my understanding olive oil can damage leather. But Im no expert. Just something a strapmaker wrote on another thread on this subject.
relaxman
I've read that but been doing it for years with no issues. I usually use a leather conditioner afterwards.
