Londongeorge87 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Just dug this one out of the 'archives'. Has been sitting in my draw for year's. Like the model it's meant to be. But clearly a crap rep. Still works though - even the power reserve somehow. Is there any way of making this half decent without spending a silly amount? Or is it a dead dog...? Cheers in advance. Failing doing anything decent with this, is DSN's version any good? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jurgenk Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 DSNs' was good, don't know if he has these anymore, 289x mvmt w PR module was a rare find You have a modded Chinese 21j movement, not bad... Not much you can do to fix it tho
Watchmeister Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Let that one lie. It is what it is. They were a good value at the time.
atomic_doug Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 It's a nice piece, to be sure, but getting it to as gen-like as possible would be an exercise in futility. If you like it, have it serviced, but I wouldn't put any money into it. Keep it as an exhibit in the 'History of Panerai Reps' museum. In another twenty years, people won't remember the minutiae of early Panerai models.
StormTooper4 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 The main issue is the White DW and pissweak cyclopes. The old eta 2892 version cyclopes aint much better either, the PVD looks ok not to shiny. The irony is that yours has a more accurate second hand than the expensive version
Jurgenk Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Thats a perfect way to characterize the random bits of surprisingly authentic replication in some very low cost replicas with more obvious issues: ironic
