New Asian 7750 Has Slipping 12 Hour Subdial

I recieved a beautiful Navitimer World from EL today. No issues except that I noticed the 12 hour subdial at the 6 o'clock position runs even when the chronograph is not activated. It will reset but only starts back again. Anyone know if this is an easy fix or if the watch needs to be sent back?

Thanks,

Jon

It is an easy fix if you feel comfortable taking apart your movement.

The Zigmeister has a great diagram of the 12 hour subdial problem at the bottom of the post here:

I had this problem with a gst once. The Zigmeister wrote me about it and

what I discovered is it's Not always an easy fix,... it depends upon the reason of slippage.

You should send it back, unless you don't mind it running, as you can always reset it

whenever you wish to time an event, or better yet, allow your chrono to run at all times

as it's no more wear on your movement to allow it to do so.

I personally would simply request a discount, as I found that the wheel on these wants

to run and is prevented via a brake that once released actually releases pressure on

the gears.

Hope this helps.... -_-

There could be an easy fix, it all depends on your skill level...

Open the caseback, and look at the bottom pusher and where it touches the lever for resetting the chrono...

What you want to note is this, does the bottom pusher touch the reset lever on the movement, or is there space between the two...

IF there is NO space between the pusher and the lever, then most likely the pusher is pressing on the lever JUST enough to cause the brake lever to release...

THe test is to remove the movement, and monitor it...if the 12 hour stays fixed, you know the problem...if it continues to move, then it's inside the chrono...and requires teardown...

Opened it up last night. Can't see a fix for it without removing the chronograph layer of the movement. Not in my skill level what so ever. The 12 hour subdial resets fine at any time when you push the bottem pusher. It just will not brake. It restarts as soon as it is reset. So my chrono can still be used to time things just can't stop for intervals and restart to keep time for long periods of time. EL offered a partial refund so I went that route. Other wise the watch is spectacular. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Thanks for all the replies!
