Akira Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Hi guys, it's supposed to be a 5512/3 service insert. Seller claims it came with a Tritium pearl. Your thoughts? Cheers Akira
Akira Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 I thought so too. The genuine service insert have a thin font. The 4's have way more space. So what kind of insert is this?
torresp Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 Gen service dial used on 6536/6538 and 5508/5510.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 i wouldnt be so quick to say its not a gen insert, its just not a service lumi insert, as the seller said its a tritium pearl, even the 4 has the serif, get a closer shot of some of the numbers
Akira Posted April 23, 2012 Author Report Posted April 23, 2012 I'm not saying that its not gen, but l can't find any reference of a gen service insert for 5513/1680 that looks like this one. http://www.vintagehour.com/en/2011/04/visual-comparison-a-study-of-rolex-bezel-inserts/ He says it must have come from his 1680 though. He is now a little confused himself.
torresp Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 As I stated in my previous post, it's gen with no doubts. Hard to find references because it's a scarce service insert, it fits on 5512/13/1680/1665 but originally was intended to be use in the non crown guard subs.. Just like this one which is, obviously, a full-specs gen: If you already bought it and don't want it just let me know
