Has anyone had this issue? Hate to believe that I need to purchase a new clasp because of this - wondering if anyone knows how to fix it?

The watch...

Not the first time I've heard of the glide-lock clasp welds failing... (I wouldn't trust one period) Sorry to see that it's messed up your watch though :( Would you have to replace it with an identical part, or would you be happy to put a bracelet from a 16610 on it instead? Other options would be straps :) Best of luck :good::drinks:

Luckily that is not the common weld failure. He broke a simple pin with swaged ends. You would have to recreate the pin and the "riveted heads" to fix this.
