2005SUBMARINER Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) ANTIMAGNETIC IRON design on movement ? what purpose does this devise serve ? or is it just for show ? thanx guys .. Edited November 10, 2006 by 2005SUBMARINER
Guest avitt Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Actually, it is a functional accessory. It acts as a Faraday Cage, which protects the movement from external electrical fields (at least it does if it's made out of the correct material).

krustybrand Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Just like the cool room Gene Hackman had set up in 'Enemy of the State".
Rolexman Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) With my SMP it was touching the rotor... so auto winding didn't work. I had to remove that useless piece of crap! Edited November 11, 2006 by Rolexman

pannylovernr1 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 An antimagnetic watch will not cause mines to detonate
gioarmani Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I was under the impression (from a The Zigmeister PM) that the ETAmovements weren't built out of magnetic materials anymore, so it didn't matter.
