Hey again. I know no body knows me here but I do like the way everyone seems to help each other.

On my last post at the bottom I mentioned I am searching for a built Daytona with the right movement.

My question is do these not come for sale very often??

Am I better off just starting to try and build my own??

ANyhow here are some of my watches and Straps. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Nice collection of watches. As for the straps..... not to my taste but hey ho , each to his own. Re: Daytona, they don't come up very often and are quite pricey. If I were you I'd source a movement (buy an old V72 powered watch on the 'bay) then add parts until you can send the whole package of to a watchmaker and there you have it. That way gives you flexibility on which parts to shell out big bucks for and where you might be happy to save a few $. Take bezel inserts for example, gens are rare as hens teeth and mucho $ but there is a pretty accurate rep available for $200(ish) Hope this is of use.

So give me a top end ball park, $2500??

Like Chief said, you can easily get in the $4k-$5k range if you add gen insert, gen dial, gen bracelet, etc.

If you can get a hold of a DW case, that's your cheapest bet. A v72 will set you back around $1k. Gen dial, depends on model and condition. Expect at least $1,500 for a black dial and in excess of $2,200 for a silver dial.
