Guest Gotohavearolexnow
I bought a movement supposed to be working from member prospex44 well it will not take the winder into it I've emailed the seller several times who finally answered me and said it's probably a keyless works issue ? I don't know what he means but I suspect the date wheel has to be removed seeing as he won't answer me , as he's reading my emails but not answering me , so I'll take it into my own hands and try and get it sorted myself as it's clear he values the £44.00 more than helping me out so any help would be much appreciated and perhaps then I can have a working movement as I bought it. krpster
Sorry to hear a deal went bad for you. That always sucks. I mod may be able to help you if you wished to pursue further. I can appreciate you wanting to just get it sorted by yourself.....but if you don't know what the keyless works are and are asking how to remove the datewheel I think maybe taking this on as a first movement repair project is a bit too adventurous. If you are hell bent on doing it pretty sure there is a tutorial on resetting the keyless works somewhere on here.... http://www.rwg.cc/topic/132392-eta-keyless-tutorial/ Search is your friend
Guest Gotohavearolexnow
Thanks , I don't want to do it but I don't want to send it off anywhere except back to the seller who is not answering me so it looks as if I'm going to have a go myself or lose the £44.00 again this is the second time in as many months I bought an eta submariner with a movement flat that never turned up and I never got a refund for that either , and it looks like this is going the same way again so far £90.00 out of pocket trying to get an eta movement that's working I would have been better of just buying a watch and taking it out rather than go through all this hassle I don want to bother mods again after last months fiasco with the guy leaving me 20 negatives so I guess I'll take thisone on the chin again. sgtguk
The keyless works on this movement is a bit involved G but is do able if you just follow the steps that k has linked for you just be prepared for a slow process and have a scotch handy whilst your doing so! Good luck with it I have stripped a couple down now and one went brilliantly fixed first time the other ahem......was a bastard !
Guest Gotohavearolexnow
I've already cocked it up ! Scratched the date wheel straight across the number 2 then took screws out and its fell everywhere so now they are all back in a little bag going to be put in the scrap draw along with all my other movements thanks for the help but to no avail I knew I should have left it movement is now totally useless as it was anyway , maybe I'll find someone to sort it out in the future who knows but for now another project on hold I've already lost £90.00 now trying to sort a movement out for this datejust I was hoping that I could fix it as it looked simple now I don know where the parts go or what way around etc , in hope prospex44 reads this as he has had me over on this movement and he knows it ,thats why he's not answering me well I would ot tuck someone for £45.00 that's for sure ! Anyway genuine 15200 case dial and glass and back for sale in the parts section it owes me £250 will even through this eta movement in with it if someone wants I'm open to offers I'll forget doing frankens from now on as I'm £340 in the red and still a load of bits and nowhere near a watch , oh well another punch to my chin .
