Esavy
Hello friend, The Safari sec@12 is a great quality ROO ( if it's the updated model with the silver outlines on the numbers / cream color dial ) However, as with all of the ROO's the date wheel is too far to the right and not deep enough. It's noticeable to Gen owners or the knowledgable AP guru from up close, yet far from noticeable to the average Joe from a couple of fee away. You can't change the date wheel placement or depth because the 7750 movement doesn't allow it . We would all have Franken ROO's I'f that was the case lol. Just enjoy it it's a great rep! I sold mine recently and I can't stop kicking myself for it!
Watchmeister
And just to add, you can't substitute the datewheel with a gen. The gen uses a different base movement (2892) and so it is a different datewheel. In order to utilize a different datewheel you would have to start with a 7750 blank and reprint. But generally IMHO the font is fairly good. And as Esavy says your bigger issue is depth and placement given the usage of a different movement.
