sigep0359 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 So the click spring on my TC M series is getting a bit weak, and was a tad bit bent, so I ordered a new one from clark's along with the spacer ring. When I put it on it was definitely tighter, but it would not engage the bezel at least half of the turn. I could rotate (with resistance) half way, and then it would get much easier and also allow me to rotate it both ways... I was interested to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this, and if they had a possible solution....
cc33 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Only thing that I can offer you is to grab a pair of pliers and bend the spring slightly to create a slightly smaller angle where it touches the bezel. It's confusing but in essence just fiddle with it, trial and error. I had that same issue once and I did just that, used a pair of pliers and played with the angle of the bend until it worked properly. You can do it.
Ephry73 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 If the spring is on the thinner side, you can always buy one replacement from Clark's or Ofrei even. E
sigep0359 Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 This one is a clark's version...
mymanmatt Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Are the teeth good on your bezel all the way around. Have you tried bending the spring spacer a tad, that should increase the resistence against the clicker spring. Good luck
sigep0359 Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 i took cc33's advice and bent the clicker spring, it took a few tries to get it to the sweet spot, but it feels pretty stout now. It clicks nicely, and is tight as a gen just back from service. I have a gen insert coming this week, and am keeping my fingers crossed that it will snap in, and I won't have to do anything to it, so I figured it should have a new spring to go with it's freshening up... Thanks for all the good advice guys!!
