Ephry73
Say if I was to build an early sub and decided to use a gilt dial (from a 16803)with white markers(sourced a gen one just like that for a trade and a song) and used my ST case with gen movement, which hands would you use? white hands or gilt hands? This is to go on a non TT, non-03 build where everything on the watch will be SS, except for the gilt dial, which already has white markers. After seeing CC3's build of the 'tona with gilt dial I got a craving for something to pay homage to the old gilt dialed subs on SS cases. White hands, or gilt hands, that is my question. The 16803 comes with gilt hands and looks great, but I don't like yellow gold as much. Thanks in advance. E Picture is a bad iPhone picture. I am leaning more towards the standard salty 16800 build
gavidoc
yellow gold since the marker rings are also yellow gold. The dial has no white gold so it would look strange.
Ephry73
It is crazy the details that do not show to the naked eye when taking a picture with bad lighting I think I will just build a salty 16800 and call it good. E
Ephry73
I know I'm going to get in trouble for this, but how good is NDT's white 16800 dial really? I keep looking at pictures of gens and the NDT and the coronet differences are not that huge at all. Even their 16800 COMEX dial looks decent. Price aside, does anyone else make this dial?
