dutchguy2
It is all about that wonderfull blue colored bezel inlay that the SMP 300 has. It ist that part that the rep industry never got right (among other things). If you want to have it correct you will have to buy the gen bezel assembly which will set you back +200 USD. WSO sells the inlay but it has a bad pearl and the wrong color blue. I had 3 of these and tried to work on them to get a better color tone and pearl. Thoug still working on the pearl I want to check here what you guy's think about the color. In the pictures is the dark, unmounted one the stock WSO inlay. So, what do you think? cougar1
Afaik the old smps, i.e. the painted marker versions had a slightly darker blue insert than the newer ones, the raised marker smps had a different blue tint. Go with the darker one for the older smp. But at the end of the day the old gens will be faded a bit now anyway ...btw were did you get that smp rep? dutchguy2
I got the SMP rep from a member. It is a canal street one what I modified. The case and bracelet are real good and I changed the movement to a Swiss ETA 2824-2. The hands are gen and the dial was relumed (unfortinately it was relumed with the wrong binder). I am waiting for the gen 007 dial I bought and a gen crown to finish it.
