Tool problems, case holder not holding...

I bought a very typical looking case holder with the 4 round plastic pins. I've tried the thing out now and it will not get a firm grip on ANY of my watches despite much manipulaton, tightening, repositioning, etc. 

 

Is this a common problem? Case holder is off brand purchased at Esslinger.  Any thoughts?

What is the body material of the case holder?

The plastic ones tend to let the pins angle out which makes for less holding power.

I have seen a few alloy with holes not square, again this will reduce holding power.

The model we sell in our tool kit is very solid and rugged and uses brass pins.

yeah, the body is alloy with round holes. this is allowing the pins to angle out. incredible that a pos like this is sold from a reputable dealer!

Scott, I probably know the model, as we also received a box full of these with incorrectly drilled holes.

I removed them from sale, until I could get replacements, and am still waiting for a refund for 50 case holders.

Just one of the joys of the tool biz!

However you soon sort out which suppliers to deal with in the future.

no offshore, it was a different type, also with poorly drilled holes. the distributor told me they will exchange for a different one..
