Snapping a gen 5513 service insert into a gen bezel?

When I have trouble with that I place the insert face up over the neck of a bottle and when it's sitting there I apply slight downward pressure all the way around to increase the bend or curve of the insert a tad. I do it slightly and try it, if its still not quite there I do it a little more until it snaps right in to the bezel.. Your insert prob just 'flattened slightly. Hope that helps

Beer bottle, and I just use two fingers from the same hand on opposite ends of the insert and apply a slight downward pressure. Maybe try it first with a rep insert that you don't care about because too much pressure will deform it. You might want to just have a local watchsmith pop it in with a specific machine/press. I have always done it myself and it works

Hey, just to let you know it is normal, I had the same kind of problem with a gen 1665 service bezel and a fat font original insert, the insert was a little too short in terms of diameter (approx 0,2mm) and my watchmaker had to press it to make it fit properly

And good watchmaker can do the job properly, but in my case, the insert is now a little flatter than before. Better to do it with an appropriate press IMO to have the best result.

Cheers !
