devilseam Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 I'm about to send my superlumed SD off for a service and have a gen crown and insert plus tc's 16600 dial and hands fitted. Whilst its there I thought about replacing the crystal, I have read that some people have struggled to fit a gen crystal but I wondered if anyone had fitted an aftermarket gen spec crystal such as a clarks or sternkreuz that is better quality than the rep crystal? If anyone has pics I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
danielv2000 Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 I don't believe there is a sapphire solution for the so called Super Sea dweller. Not sure about the new Superlumed version.

kbh Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 It is a shame you can't take the "ultimate" SD and change that crystal. You've got the better rehaut on the case but the crystal ruins it for me.

I can't even see the LEC on mine without a magnifier, but I've only got 20/40 vision. But I can see the ugly bevel cut on the outer edge of the "ultimate" crystal in every picture I look at.
devilseam Posted March 8, 2013 Author Report Posted March 8, 2013 I read that an owner of the SSD fitted an MG25-295 from Jules borel, have any owners of the SLSD gone down this road? Might give the TC crystal a go too.
