Jimster
I'm assembling parts for a quality 5513 build with an ETA mvt right now since I don't have a gen movement available. I've got two new movements: ETA 2783 - 25j - date ETA 2846 - 21j - day date. Same size, same beat - 21,600. I've also got two singer dials - both not new showing age - a gilt and a nice patina's white. No hands right now. Thanks for any insight from the pros. Thoughts? panerai153
Jim, I'm certainly not going to argue with MD, he's the watchmaker. However ,I have a 2783 in a Tudor big crown 7924 and it's a really solid movement. In fact it was the movement found in some of the Tudor subs. 25j as opposed to 21j, probably of no real consequence, jst more jewels!! i don't think you could go wrong with either one, but both are old, old movements and they really should be serviced before you put them in a watch. send them to MD2020 he'll fix you up. Jimster
Either one sounds safe as they both have the same beat and size. Now, gilt dial or aged white?
highoeyazmuhudee
2846 i find the 2783 to have more cumbersome parts to work with (more little springs that love to fly everywhere) aged white dial
Jimster
I was leaning toward aged white. Add the 2846 and a gen 700 crown from the box. How's the MBW insert stack up? I've got a couple of pearls in the box.
