oldtools
No. The TC crystal retainer has a larger outer diameter than a genuine crystal retainer. I had to machine the TC crystal retainer on a lathe to get a genuine bezel to fit and it was a pain in the neck. Maybe one of the aftermarket crystal retainers on ebay are gen spec and can be used with a gen bezel?
correctime
Best to keep the retainer and bezel ring together when possible. I've tried the fit of just about every bezel ring imaginable and haven't ever had any success with an acceptable fit to the gen retainer. Seems the only bezel ring that'll fit a gen retaining is a gen. I've never really understood "why" they can't use the correct gen size specs when tooling the retaing ring and bezel ring. They've managed to get the bezel ring measurements right to fit the gen crystal and accept a gen insert...so what's the problem?? Am I missing something ??
