section8 Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I've got a Breitling GT from eddie and it's worked flawlessly since i got it..until about 2 weeks ago. I can't get the crown to engage the day/date wheel to set it. I've tried the procedure for when it unwinds - manually wind, then shake, then adjust time to determine am/pm, then adjust day/date - but it still will not work Eddie suggests shipping it to tawain for repair but I'm wondering if there are other options i could try (locally perhaps) before i have to ship it around the world! Thanks
ubiquitous Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Perhaps a trip to Ziggy would be of benefit? While it's there, have a tear down and service of the movement to give you a good baseline on service.
Guest submersible24g Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 set the time to 6 oclock and then try to set it. the 7750s whether swiss or asian have an issue of date setting in between 10 oclock and 3 oclock.
ubiquitous Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I may be incorrect, but I believe he's mentioned trying to adjust the date during 'safe' hours already?
section8 Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 I may be incorrect, but I believe he's mentioned trying to adjust the date during 'safe' hours already? Yes, I tried setting it during the 'safe' hours already too, no dice. I don't know The Zigmeister (haven't been lurking enough i guess) Is he a forum member?
section8 Posted November 27, 2006 Author Report Posted November 27, 2006 I tried at 4:30 justn now, still doesn't work.
MAHLER Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 .... there are not a lot of things to say the movement is defective...
