bamagrad03
I purchased this watch:http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-breitling-steelfish-xl-a1739010-$1830-874706.html Generally I check with you guys first on big purchases, but this one had all the paperwork, box, etc. Knowing that the Steelfish is basically a super fake, I've not got a nuanced enough eye to discern whether or not this one is legit. Everything about it screams legit, except one thing: there's no serial number. Now, there is a possible reason for this. Included in the paperwork is an original receipt for an overhaul. And I have read of people having their serial numbers polished off with overhauls of these because the engraving of the serial is so shallow. The loom is good, and the rehaut lines up perfectly with the dial. Normally, I'd just pull the caseback and check the movement, but I don't have a Breitling tool. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Edited June 17, 2013 by bamagrad03
dropbear2008
The Steelfish rep is actually not that great from up close when compared to the gen. Easiest tell would be the trademark blueish Breitling AR and the quality of the bracelet. Looking at your pictures I would say you have a gen.

ceocorona
Another easy tell is where the bracelet meets the case. On the rep the bracelet and lugs are flush and on the gen the bracelet is every so slightly lower leaving a small step to the lug. I think what I said makes sense?
