Hi people. I've read through a number of members comments regarding the quality of the rep 1887 Tag Heuer's and I've not heard 1 positive comment around them and I'm trying to understand why?

I'm an owner a calibre 16 Day Date Rep which is brilliant quality for the price but considering the complex build of this in comparison to the 1887 models surely these should be of the same standard?

Give me your thoughts...

I'm with you OP, love the 1887, the problem with it is the movement to fit, afaik there isn't one that fits the profile exactly so issues getting it repped. Also some of the cheaper (from pics) factories started building them so then that puts off the bigger factories...which is a shame. The 1887 imo is one of the nicest THs out there atm.

Some thing came out recently that might be worth a look, a little better quality than the other 1887, but still some issues...bad DW, sunburst dial is a bit too sunburst etc...still a very nice rep though. It might be a compromise for a while:

Thanks for the welcome SSTEEL.

I've not been looking at any 1887's in particular but bought through Andrew at TTW so I was looking at the models available there. In particular I've been looking out for the limited edition x space model with the light brown strap as that is a lovely piece but can't seem to find it anywhere so I was looking for a compromise of something similar, can you recommend anything else??

I saw the 1887 SLR rep on a previous post thanks Cougar1 but it's not really for me. What's a bad DW?

Thanks for your welcome again!!

Only the Carrera models, the 41mm Date, and the 43mm Day/Date.  Check my various threads in the Tag Heuer area ;)

The 1887 rep is not accurate at all...That' why there is no positive comment :)
