Hand ReLuming - Advice Needed

Hey folks - I am going to relume a Minute hand to match the original tritium on and Hour Hand and I need some advice. The original minute hand was damaged, so I am buying a replacement and removing it's "new" lume.  It doesn't need to glow (the hour hand doesn't glow either), so I was thinking about using Testers and mixing White and a dot of brown to get the beige that I'm after.  Is this the right  a way to get it done?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you show us both hands?

Maybe bathing the hand in coffee or tea might be enough?

But the minute hand will glow and the hour one won't...
