warburg Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 I have a Panerai 036 replica that requires an enormous emount of winding to keep it running for a 24 hour period, and even with all that winding it sometimes stops after eight hours or so. Also, the crown guard lever flops and needs tightening. I don't know whether the watch needs cleaning or some other repair, but I'm not a technical type and would like to find someone on this board who repairs watches. I've come across the name of The Zigmeisterzumba, but he's not accepting PMs.
Canuck88 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Which movement (CN or Swiss)? Who was the dealer? Maybe something is slipping - does it wind smoothly? Only takes about 30 turns for 6497 to be fully wound and last for 40+ hours...

I also have another 036 with a black (wrong) dial that I got before this one. Both of them came from Paul. Even the watch with a black dial requires about 100 turns to keep ticking for more than 24 hours.
Canuck88 Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Sounds like a junk movement, and I doubt they are worth saving... buy a new one from Davidsen... not sure how much but well under $100 I think... use your old ones to learn some watch skills
