Franken

Total newbie question, but can't find my answer anywhere...I get that 'franken" means getting your rep up to "gen" standards, but who does this and how do i get in contact? Is there anywhere in the US or Canada? Do these people "franken" all brands or just specific ones?

I have an IWC 5002 on the way. It will be my third rep and the one that i would like to get as close to gen as possible.

Anyone can go franken, be it do the work themselves if experienced, or get someone else with experience to do the work.  I have done mine myself, a Tag Carrera CV2A10.

Its pretty easy to "fraken" you need money, time, and a little luck to find the parts. Hardest parts are always the case. The movements, dial, hands, crystal and other parts are generally relatively easy to source. YMMV depending on the model. For your new watch, the strap is the easiest thing to upgrade to give it a GEN feel.
