Hi guys

I have searched around the forum for a while and I have gained a lot of knowledge about watches, brands, and TDs. I just wanted to thank you all for your help by posting resourceful threads and posts.  :notworthy:

I have yet to purchase my first rep/homage, but for now it is all about researching and finding reviews. I have searched around the TDs section and I was stuck to silix, but I realized that

there were not very satisfying reviews. I also happened to find watcheden and trustytime, which I have checked out. The only thing that has stumped me is that I cannot find any high-quality Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 5123, 5127, or 5107 models. I went on trusty's site and I saw a 5107 and a 5127, but they did not seem to be the same model. I am open to any suggestions that you all may have in finding a high-quality Calatrava model . Thanks for your time.  :)

Edit: I found this thread made by ubiquitous, which is the last forum that I recall posting a calatrava model: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/163609-1940s-ppco-chrono-build/page-2?hl=%2Bcalatrava#entry1276687

His watch could by far be one of the nicest reps I have seen on this site and it would be nice to find one similar to it. I do not want to make any modifications to a watch if I buy one atm,

as I am one that would probably break something opening a delicate timepiece. I do not want to buy a watch that looks appealing on the outside, yet have some faulty quartz movement on the inside.

Welcome and more likely to  get a faulty auto movement than a quartz. :pimp:

That's interesting, I thought quartz's might be more faulty, but now that I think about it you're right because there are swiss quartz watches that are made with quality as opposed to some sugar-coated automatics.  :good:
