ticklescrumbum Posted November 8, 2013 Report Posted November 8, 2013 Check out the item posting on Trusty Time at ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3407 Ok, so, onto the review. I unwrapped this beautiful rep today and couldn't have asked for more. It's made from a genuine used as sample (not 100% sure what that means, but assuming the casing is gen?) and it weighs in at just under 150g, so very substantial. It is, without a doubt, flawless. The detail is extraordinary, and the mechanism/complication works without an issues whatsoever. There was a light blue film on the crown and the start/stop, but this came off with my thumbnail, and as it was visible in the QC I have no issues with it. In addition to buying the watch, I also splashed out on a Tag Heuer box, as I feel an item of this quality needs a good home when it's not on my wrist. Again, I wasn't disappointed, and the leather/wood finish was indistinguishable from the real thing. My only little niggle, and it is a little one, is that the strap feels a bit plasticky, but this may resolve when the leather softens over time. Now, I can't finish this review without saying a few words about Andrew and Trusty Time. I have been absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the incredible level of customer service. Every response was dealt with almost immediately, he has been courteous, helpful and efficient. Oh, and the item was delivered within 10 days of being paid for. What more could I ask for? And now, on to the pictures...
icoopernicus Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Very nice watch. This is a very good replica and very accurate, not perfect, but accurate. If your box is a replica box then I can assure you there is a very big difference between it and the box that a Genuine TAG Heuer comes in, I didn't notice until I bought my carrera and it was immediately evident that the replica box is not as good. Either way, enjoy your new timepiece and wear it in good health!
ticklescrumbum Posted November 15, 2013 Author Report Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks for the heads up Icoopernicus, but in Trusty Time's defense, the box was beautiful, as were all the support documents. In fact, I compared it to my neighbour's gen Tag Heuer box and it actually appeared better quality (well, same quality maybe, but bigger). The only issue I could find was a spelling mistake on the international guarantee card that read "dete", rather than "date", but I'm willing to overlook that. Maybe they've improved their stock since you ordered yours? I have noticed since writing the review that the second dial is a little jumpy. And although the time keeping is very accurate, aesthetically, the movement could be a little smoother. Still, excellent value for money, and I had great pleasure yesterday winding up a mate who paid £5.6k for a gen, and couldn't spot that mine was a rep. Classic.
Biodom Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 I have both, and what you say is totally true. Rep box are not accurate. Very nice watch. This is a very good replica and very accurate, not perfect, but accurate. If your box is a replica box then I can assure you there is a very big difference between it and the box that a Genuine TAG Heuer comes in, I didn't notice until I bought my carrera and it was immediately evident that the replica box is not as good.
