maverick86 Posted November 27, 2013 Report Posted November 27, 2013 Hi guys, just a quick question of what you think would be best.. I had decided to sell my ROO (this is not a sales thread) but the seconds dial has come loose somewhat and now spins around. Watch works fine and te dial is still in position. Would it be best to fix this then sell it or sell for a reduced price?
jpohl402 Posted November 29, 2013 Report Posted November 29, 2013 Depends if you have a trusted watchsmith close to you. Could really go either way... Would take time to fix if you have to send it out, plus would cost money I say sell at reduced rate unless you have a local watchsmith
maverick86 Posted February 10, 2014 Author Report Posted February 10, 2014 Ok thanks for that. just getting back round to this now! can't believe its been that long!! haha I'm about to put it up for sale now on the watches thread, but does $350 seem ok for it?
panerai153 Posted February 10, 2014 Report Posted February 10, 2014 Is the dial loose or is the hand loose? Photos would help.
maverick86 Posted February 10, 2014 Author Report Posted February 10, 2014 Not the main dial, just the sub dial, @12, here:
Legend Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Its not a difficult fix.. the subdial is usually attached to the dial assembly, and honestly, a adhesive would fix it. I had the same issue with an ROO 2 years back, and my watchsmith just put a spot of adhesive (informing and asking me in advance of course) and it stopped spinning like John Cena's WWE belt The watch is still with me, with subdial firmly attached.
panerai153 Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 maverick, there are several good watch modders in the EU, so it should be a simple fix by domi or rolexaddict, or maybe others who are in the EU and make shipping simple and safe. I would have it fixed, as it would end up selling for more. lots of folks won't buy a broken watch, unless they are able to fix it themselves or have a watchmaker that they know and trust. In a lot of cases, folks just don't want the hassle of trying to get a watch fixed.
