piepan
Hi everyone. New to the forum. I've looking for a good dial. I've tried the phong. Looking at Ndt. Just not impressed. My 1680 is a complete phong. Case. Dial. With a 1570 cal. Rolex sunburst date wheel. The phong case is pretty good. Much better than a yuki. The bezel is a bit wide. Will not take a OEM bezel. Little flat. I can live with that. The dial is just horrible for the amount I put in, I should have just bought a real one. That being said. If anyone has a good dial. Refinished. Or can point a noob in the right direction. It would be appreciated. Edited December 18, 2013 by piepan

netniet
I would go for this one, the color of the dial is just awesome. And I would leave it as is. http://www.chrono-shop.net/en/dials/1498-rare-vintage-rolex-red-submariner-date-dial-watch-1680-for-restore-or-repair-project-.html
irolexu
A gen dial just sold on eBay. Keep your eye on TRF and VRF. You should go gen with that type of build. Especially having a gen movement
lionsandtigers
Agree. Gotta go gen. Post a wtb in VRM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
piepan
As much as I would want to go gen. I just cannot justify putting a couple thousand into a watch that will never be 100%. I wish I can find a good source for good dials, I do not understand why a dial would be so difficult. something is always a tad bit off. btw. the case is very good, little pricey but well worth it. piepan
but then again, I see horrible home jobs on the bay, "real bids". I really wonder what the exact % of the 1680s floating around are 100%...
