Cronografos? What are they and where are they from ?

Having been a tad disappointed by the new 1940 Chronos ( I really don't like those new dials) I thought I'd look at a few other Chronos and I have just seen these Radiomir Cronografos

 

I really like the look of them with their large Ferrari'esq crowns.  

 

 

But I can't find anything about them , does anyone know what they are and where they come from ?

Even seems to have the same exact lug design / case shape as the apparently later designs of the Ferrari watches.  I would assume that these are the precursors to the Ferrari contracted chronos, but that is just a guess.  Wonder if these actually were in production prior to the Scuderia or Granturismo's? 

 

On a side note, before I clicked on the link, I completely thought you were being facetious about the entire thing, lol.  What's a Chronograph?

I like those Cronografo's much better than the Radiomir 1940 Chronographs.  I think Panerai's going a little overboard with the faux patina thing.  It's starting to look a little silly.

Those are custom made homages using the Ferrari style case, not actual Panerai prototypes or anything official.

So these are not actually being produced, they are all 'builds'?

I need to look, are these Ferrari cases with Rad dials-what would be a parts list,may I ask?

I may want to give this a try, I'm ambitious.

You need to get the handwind chrono Ferrari 024.  Silix had them:
