abixo
Hi I am new to rwg and new to rep watches in general. I bought my first one from Andrew and just wondering if anyone can be of assistance or know if there is something very simple that I am doing wrong. The watch tells the time fine. See attached picture. The second hand will not work and only the bottom dial moves. The left and right ones do not. Does anyone have any ideas? I pologise for the very low quality picture but hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge can help me. Cheers
SSTEEL
Assuming this is the A7750 movement, and not the 21J fixed second hand model? The large second hand you are referring to is the chronograph hand, and parked at 12oclock, the same as the sub-dials @9 & @3 indicate the chronograph has been stopped, and reset. Your seconds hand is the hand of the sub-dial @6, this is where your second hand is. To start the chronograph you need to unscrew the crown @ 2, and push it. Press the same pusher to stop the chronograph. Then to reset the chronograph you unscrew the crown @4 and push that pusher, and all the hands will reset to 12oclock apart from your send hand in the sub-dial @6. Got a link to the watch from Andrews site so we are on the same page here? Edited January 30, 2014 by SSTEEL
abixo
Thanks very much for your response SSTEEL, here is the link. I will try what you have said and edit with what happens. http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11340 EDIT: SSTEEL, I thank you for saving me what would most likely of been hours of time spent on something that was so little. I was not applying enough pressure to the crown @ 2 and therefore the hand wasnt working. It is now working perfectly and I will be getting out my Canon and putting a review up in the next couple of hours. Again, thank you so much for your help. Hopefully I will be on here a bit more with some new reps. Take care Edited January 30, 2014 by abixo
SSTEEL
Yup, thats got the A7750 so full chronograph functionality my friend. Be sure to read up on how to look after that movement as they can be very delicate. There are several threads within the forums with great advice on keeping your sec@6 A7750 running ok. Manually winding it can cause problems so try not to manually wind it, but if you do need to, slowly slowly, and don't force the crown should you feel any resistance.
