Nikkex
Hi guys Im a newbie so be gentle I rescently bought an IWC Mark XVI with an asian 2892 movement for 288 usd. The watch itself is quite nice, case, dial and glass. However the movement sounds a bit much when I move my arm... Is that common for these asian clones or have I been unlucky..?? I have an autentic IWC with an ETA movement so I know how it should sound. I bought the watch from Trusty Time (Andrew) and yes it was just before I found this forum (and RGW). The model at the site is IWC0127B for 288 usd. Was it a bad/expensive buy and if so where can I get a better Mark XVI replica..? tomhorn
What you are hearing is most likely noise from the rotor. Any movement you get in a rep is likely to be dirty and/or dry from the factory. It is common knowledge on the forums, but since you didn't register until after you bought it, you wouldn't necessarily have known that going in. A service will clear up the problem. Any other rep you buy will probably have the same issue, and in the case of this rep, all the dealers are getting the same watch so buying another one won't cure the problem.
