coffindodger Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 HI, just got a new sub and DSSD should I give the bracelets a light cap codding ? i have read some where of people doing this. Also people say bracelets been brushed and oil'd! whats this mean! Thanks
asciwhite Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Do NOT use Cape Cod on brushed finishes!! You will ruin it and make it too shiny. As to oiling. You can soak the bracelet in sewing machine oil, chain oil e.t.c and dry it off afterwards.
droptopman Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 +1 avoid polishes. I ruined a sub bracelet using a polish. Luckily it was an old two tone sub with solid gold mid links so just polished it out all they way and actually looks kind of vintage but would not want that with a solid SS brushed piece. Try white lightning bike chain lube. Works great. There are some threads on it around here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you rub it on brushed metal, it will remove the brushed finish.

Thought so! was just checking i was sure I read somewhere about cap coding a bracelet. Must have been shiney ones.
Jkay Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 You can always use an abrasive 3M "scotch pad" to restore and beautify a blemished bracelet. In mere moments, it's looking better than Factory. Thought so!
droptopman Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 Tried the 3m pad this morning on my BK Sub C. Works awesome and is quick and easy. Then did a white lightning. Now like gen:). Smooooth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
