GenTLe
Hi Gents, I'm looking forward for a top rep of this sweety: http://www.omegawatches.com/collection/seamaster/planet-ocean-600-m/omega-co-axial-42-mm/23230422101001 I've found 2 of them: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_114&products_id=10436 (= original Omega newer version 8500 - 16.5mm thik, with dual color superlume and with display case back) http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_114&products_id=7063 (= original Omega older version 2500 - 14,5mm thik, single color superlume and fully metal caseback) What do you think about them? Isn't 16,5mm too much? Also, considering it doesn't have original movement, isn't the close back better? On the other side, the newer model has a bezel and a dial that I prefer... Difficult choice... :-/ Thanks, Alex
dusk
First link won't work for me but second one is ok. The clear backs look amazing to me but the downside is that it's a clear indication that it's not genuine. Having said that I'm sure 99.99% of the worlds population won't know this anyway. For this reason the closed metal backs seem to be more favourable to rep guys as it looks more convincing when the movement is hidden. It depends what you want though as I doubt anyone will ask to hold the thing anyway and the back can't be seen when it's on your wrist! If you like the planet ocean look you should consider the liquid metal planet ocean which was rep of the year 2013 and is seen as the current best planet ocean. http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_128_129&product_id=843 Good luck buddy! I have a liquid metal on its way ;-)

GenTLe
Hi Dusk, in the end, by myself, I've finished to select the same one you linked to me :-D Just an advise: TB offers the Noob POLM with ETA (+180$) and with "asian ETA" made by seagull (as he stated in a private mail)... I'm wondering if there's value for money for the original ETA or if it's a good idea to go for the asian one... Do you have experience in this sense? Tnx, GenTLe

I've gone for the Asian movement personally. The Asian vs swiss debate is a long one and better people than me have talked about it. I'm also very new to this world :-) Have a search around for comparisons but I think the Asian is mechanically fine. I believe the only issues with these movements is that the CQ is not as strict but nothing a service wort sort out! Have a search on the subject and most of all enjoy your omega!
