Installing 1560 bridge on a cal. 1570

hi everyone --

 

i am in the process of sourcing parts for an gilt project.  it is mainly because i managed to source a gen PCG case-set.  the watch would require a either 1530 or 1560 movement.  i have a spare 1570 movement on hand.  i know that without opening the caseback, the only person that will spot the difference is myself.  however since we could get a used 1560 bridge at a fairly reasonable price.

 

has anyone installed the 1560 auto device bridge on a 1570 to make it appear a 1560 at first glance?

The 1560/1570 movements were based on the 1530 which was introduced (around) 1957, and continued until (around) 1964.

The 1560 was introduced (around) 1965, and continued until (around) 1967--it was 26 Jewels/18,000 BPH.

The 1570 was also introduced (around) 1965, and continued until (around) 1979, but was 26 Jewels/19,800 BPH.

 

For what it's worth, the rotor bridges, which bear the model numbers on all "15 series" movements, are all interchangeable.

It's entirely possible to see a 1530 with a 1570 rotor bridge, or a 1520 with a 1555 rotor bridge, or any other strange combination.

Thanks - as what i suspected it. Do you know if there are other parts that i would need to install it on a 1570 movement?

great..but im planning to get the bridge (i.e. the plate between the rotor & movemnt). will the 1570 rotor fit right on a 1560 bridge.

Yes it will fit, but why not add a butterfly rotor?
