Just got my hands on a titanium seawolf. I was wondering is the titanium a different grade from gen. Because the color seems to be darker contrast to the gen. Can anybody confirm?

The watch is actually constructed of a Titanium alloy which darkens/oxidises somewhat with exposure to the atmosphere.

The genuine item does this too....

Is there any type of cloth or liquid to use to bring back some luster?

If you want more luster, I have a Stainless Steel Avenger that I would be willing to trade ya. :yeah:

I picked one up from King also. Today at lunch the deli was next door to a Breitling AD, so I checked out the genuine article... Some observations on the gen:

Single sided bluish AR on the crystal

Bezel mechanism feels very different from the rep

Bracelet much tighter

Did you notice any difference in the grade of the titanium? Was the rep darker?

Visually, the titanium looked the same to me.

The genuine seemed a little bigger but that could have been my imagination. Perhaps the gen was a tad heavier also.

Oh and I should have mentioned the caseback. The 300m is the least of the problems on the rep caseback because it's nothing like the gen caseback at all.

I just don't understand why they stopped making this model!

The demand seems quite strong for the product judging from this forum.

I would stand in line for one Seawolf titanium - if I could just find the line.

JJ I might sell mine after I do the gen dial swap. I haven't decided. But if so, you'll be the first to know. :)

Interested - just let me know when the mood strikes!

Thanks,

I guess it went out of production because this rep got a "slow start". It didn't generate much interest when it first came out. But neither did Breitlings generally, either. Partly because most old reps were so bad. If some model doesn't sell, they'll stop making it I guess...

Breitling's popularity here has exploded in the last 6-7 months, which is nice. Almost all the "bread and butter" models have been replicated very well. Personally, I'm still waiting for the Steelfish.
