robpatte
I'm new. And clumsy. Not the 'broke both arms getting out of the bath' clumsy, but more the 'managed to scratch my plexiglass on Day 1' clumsy So my question is 'Should I give the PVD watches a wide berth?' There's been a few PVD reps come up which I really like the look of, but not ever owning one (gen or rep) I have no idea if the coating lasts. Do gens have a thicker coating? I'm a desk diver, so it's not like I'd be wrist deep in a bag of bolts every day. Would my rep purchase still look tasty six months from now? Thanks guys! lloyd
I have a watch with a DLC coating. It is very hard and scratch resistant. The problem I have is that I work in clinics with the metal door frames and equipment. I will be walking along and hit my watch against something metal. Some times it makes a very tiny dent which pops off the DLC in a pin point spot. If you have a tool type watch. The scratches add character. On a dress watch, they don't look so good. dbane883
I have yet to see a PVD/DLC watch that I like. Not a fan.
