Genuine Rolex box, always a ref number?

Guys,

Can you help me with the following question.

I want tot buy a gen Rolex box from one of our members and asked him what ref the box was. He answered and said there was no number on the box.

It's a new style box, is that possible or is it not genuine?

Not sure but all my boxes from my gens have a ref number latest gen purchase was in 2013

There should be a ref number on the bottom of the box underneath "Rolex Geneve Suisse" or something like that, it's pretty much impossible to miss, not sure if rep boxes have these too

 

Post a picture of it though

 

If it's this box (newest 2014) then you can be sure it's a gen since a rep of it doesn't exist yet

 

 

and if it's this, then it's pretty easy to tell if its a gen or rep because the rep ones are really bad

Yes, I have one sitting here in my office and it has a reference on the bottom.  It is from a 16623 from 1988.
