Steve McQueen Explorer II: To Build or Rep?

Hey All!

 

Been a while but I am still on the hunt for a rarity of a rep. Been doing some digging around the inter-webs here and there and found a site that actually sells everything I would need for a Explorer II build like the one Mcqueen use to wear (the man is one of personal idols, and I always liked that watch)

 

But...is there even a such a rep for me to buy? Because if there is I can't find it; and if I can't find it, the I will just build it (with the help of numerous sticky's on RWG of course) 

 

I've looked at all the trusted dealer sites and nothing...

I'm pretty sure just about any TD can get that watch.

It's a pretty popular model and I know I've seen reps of it.

Personally not a fan so never really paid too much attention. They do exist though

I've definitely seen them before too. They don't look as nice as that pic though. Would probably have to build it if you really want a quality one.

First thing - McQueen never wore one. Urban legend. If you want a McQueen watch you have to build a 5512.

However, if you want a 1655, I would start with a Cartel rep, and mod gen/aftermarket parts into that. Ingod for the dial, omega flight master hands for the handset, a gen spec broached 24hr hand, a phong bezel, and a gem crown and tube. Hope that helps!
