I found some posts about the MQ dials and have contacted him. What do the vintage experts think of the MQ refinished gilt dials? In conversation with Minh, he stated they are refinished like gen with the plate showing through as text. They are $900 so looking for more information before dropping that kind of coin. cc33 Posted October 10, 2014 Report Share Posted October 10, 2014 They are made using similar methods so yes the plate shows through like Ivan's or gens but he uses a modern lacquer that doesn't look 100% right sheen wise (that's me being very very anal) most won't notice or care. They are the second best option behind the Ivan dials, they claim to use gen plates but I can tell you for a 200% fact that they are not. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
