sashwatch Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 was obessed with RC helicopter for a long time... finally i recieved it as a early christmas present.. it is a esky electric power 6CH 3D heli... i am still having problems getting it off the ground.. haha any RC owner here?
Bignasty Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 I hear the helicopters are very hard to fly. I'm pretty sure you can buy a simulator you can practice with on your computer. Not sure what the names of them are but you can pick them up online from Hobby retailers. Better to crash it in a simulator than to crash the real thing!
sashwatch Posted December 13, 2006 Author Report Posted December 13, 2006 yeah.. damm difficult to fly the MF... hmm, maybe i should just get the simulation kit.. btw, i have the training kit with the ping pong ball to help avoid nasty crashes..
narikaa Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 to help avoid nasty crashes.. You think so ???? I smashed up dozens of these RC things (ones with real motors).... Do what I did Go fly the real thing easier! & cheaper too
Guest avitt Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 It's cars only for me (electric touring). I only have the skills to handle things in 2 dimensions.
sashwatch Posted December 13, 2006 Author Report Posted December 13, 2006 You think so ???? I smashed up dozens of these RC things (ones with real motors).... Do what I did Go fly the real thing easier! & cheaper too cheaper??? damm.. i think a pilot license cost more than 50 piece of the RC heli... dont think i want to crash 50 of them... :) i have one of the picooz.. its sure damm easy to fly and damm cute too..
narikaa Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 cheaper??? damm.. i think a pilot license cost more than 50 piece of the RC heli... dont think i want to crash 50 of them... :) i have one of the picooz.. its sure damm easy to fly and damm cute too.. Yes I should have said I did all my RC damage back in the days before the 'cheap n easy' electric ones. A crash back then was a good an solid kick in the wallet. .
sashwatch Posted December 13, 2006 Author Report Posted December 13, 2006 ooh.. yeah.. i know what you meant.. these days.. you can get a decent electric powered heli.. for under $200...
rocket754 Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 I am big fan of R/C stuff. I had a few electric cars growing up then I upgraded to nitro powered vehicles. I had a TMAXX 4WD monster truck and loved it. Now I am thinking about buying a R/C Jet. I saw a guy that had a F-14 and it was just a spetacular model.
sashwatch Posted December 13, 2006 Author Report Posted December 13, 2006 RC jet??? you mean jet engine? you sure need a damm BIG open space for it...
rocket754 Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Yup. It had twin jet engines and was about 4 1/2 feet in length. Just awsome. I think there is a video on Yotube with a guy that has a bigger version with real afterburning engines in it.
Guest avitt Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Wow...Do you need a tailhook to land that thing? (Or do you just stick it nose-first into the ground?)
rocket754 Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 It is just an amazing video. If I wasn't at work right now I would go and search Yotube to find it. It has Top Gun music with it and everything. If anyone finds it today. Post up the link. cool stuff for any R/C fan
Usil Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 (edited) I used to fly planes by wire when I was younger. RC was way too expensive. Then these came along and it redefines the sport: More Jets - WOW Hugh RC Jet with cockpit camera And more with spills ... RC Jets and spills RC Jet Crash Usil Edited December 13, 2006 by Usil
pabra Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 http://www.metacafe.com/watch/310214/300_km_h_it_is_real/ another great one (that I hope has not been posted already).
rek001 Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 Sash, your Picooz helicopter, does it actually fly pretty well? Is it fun? I'm thinking of getting one for my 11 year old nephew for Christmas. Thanks!

Your model and picture matches absolutely nothing on that website. What are you referencing?
