freewilly Posted December 14, 2006 Report Share Posted December 14, 2006 Which of the following is recommended to prolong the life of an auromatic watch when it is nor being worn: 1) Let it run down on its own 2) Pull out the stem 3) Best to keep it running via a winder 4) Doesn't really matter I am starting to accumulate a few reps and may not wear one for a month or so. As for long life, running or not is probably not as critical as getting it serviced on a regular basis, the oils and grease deteriorate due to age (read= time) not use... doesn't really matter if the watch is running or not, the oils dry out...
