When Not Wearing Your Automatic Watch...

Recommended Posts

Which of the following is recommended to prolong the life of an auromatic watch when it is nor being worn:

1) Let it run down on its own

2) Pull out the stem

3) Best to keep it running via a winder

4) Doesn't really matter

I am starting to accumulate a few reps and may not wear one for a month or so. Just wondering which is the best for the movement in the long run.

I would let it run down...

As for long life, running or not is probably not as critical as getting it serviced on a regular basis, the oils and grease deteriorate due to age (read= time) not use... doesn't really matter if the watch is running or not, the oils dry out...
